Mission Update

Hello everyone!

We’ve had a beautiful last 6 weeks here in the Philippines, full of missions, service, activities, formation, and outings!

Since my last update, we’ve had 18 missions and spoken to 1,113 young people! We’ve been everywhere from university campuses, to an all-girls Catholic school, to a homemade set for our new Youtube channel.

God is definitely working through our small efforts, forming the youth to understand more about their true identity, God’s plan for their lives, and their own sexuality and relationships. One young man at a French non-profit where we give consistent formation shared, “I’m so grateful to Pure Heart for helping me to understand how to form healthy relationships.” At the end of another retreat at a public school, three girls came up to us in tears and kept repeating two words: “Life changing!” I asked another boy what his favorite part of the mission was, and he said, “It was learning that the greatest love story in all of history is my love story; that there was a man who loved me so much that He died for me!”

On top of all those missons, we began filming our new Youtube channel, “Project Love”! There are really no resources in the local language about sexuality and relationships, so we decided to create a Youtube channel to reach even more youth here in the Philippines! We filmed the first two episodes, and will be filming 10 more episodes this weekend. Pray for this project, that it can reach more youth than we could ever reach in person!

We also welcomed the arrival of Jeremiah Kraker, our first ever Long-term missionary participant. Jeremiah recently left the US Marine Corps and flew from his home in Minnesota all the way to Cebu, to join us in serving Pure Heart for one year! He’ll also be giving of his time and efforts by serving the poor in many different capacities. Pray for him!

I was able to welcome my first friend who visited me in the Philippines! It was such a blessing to welcome John Casella here in Cebu, and to have his help during 5 missions, as well as to show him around the beauty of Cebu.

I got to hang out in China for awhile...well, in the airport (see pics below). Our first Pure Heart couple got engaged! Lastly, my little brother got married! I had the huge blessing to be able to go to California for 4 days (talk about jet lag!) for the ceremony and to celebrate with the whole family. We now have a new Crowley in the clan!

-Oct. 19-22: three-day filming of Project Love, our Youtube channel

-Oct. 26-28: Pure Heart annual silent retreat

-Nov. 9: Mission to 140 students at SKILLS training center

-Nov. 10: Mission to Enfants de Mekong students

-Nov. 12-13: Mission to 250 10th grade students at Talamban National High School

-Nov. 17: Mission to Enfants de Mekong students

-Nov. 18: Chiara Luce girls youth group

-Nov. 24: Mission to Enfants de Mekong students
